We're a group of Christian men, dedicated to training others in following Christ, who, in turn, do the same. Join us on this faith journey.

About MDI

Christian Non-profit Organization based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, USA

Making Disciples Incorporated (MDI) is a fellowship of Christian men who recruit and train other Christian men to become more dedicated followers of Christ. Our approach is centered on multiplication, not addition. While addition is valuable, we believe multiplication is more effective. Here's how it works:

A Personal Journey: Dedication to Making Disciples

A word from the founder: "At 82, I took time to reflect on my life—past, present, and future. It became clear that, in this immediate decade ahead, from age 82 to 92, possibly my final decade on this earth, my sole focus would be making DISCIPLES who make other DISCIPLES.

"I stand together with a fellowship of ...

Joining a Discovery Group

If you're interested in joining a Discovery Quad, or if you want to learn more about Discovery Quads or even start a group, please contact Gifford Claiborne at (760) 351-6503. You can visit us at 8651 Foothill Blvd., Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730.

Meeting Times and Locations

Each Discovery Quad decides when and where they will meet weekly. Typically, the details are worked out during the first meeting, along with Q&A about Discovery Quads. Each Quad has a Convener who organizes the meetings and ensures everyone's participation. Meeting in fast-food restaurants is common due to the extended meeting times.

How Does It Work?

Each week as we meet, and after opening with prayer, we share for 30 minutes about what’s been happening with each of us over the past week. We also report on any assignments from the past week. We do this while enjoying our coffee, snack or meal together.

Then we spend about 30 minutes reading a passage of scripture together, then restating the passage in our own words, and discussing the passage by asking and discussing four questions about the passage we read. (See 2 Tim 3:16.)

  1. Is there something here we should believe?
  2. Is there something here we should stop doing?
  3. Is there something here we should start doing?
  4. Is there something here we should do better?

Then we each write an “I will” statement. Something I will do this week to try to obey what I’ve learned from this week’s scripture passage and discussion.

After that we each make a note about who we can share this story or portion of scripture with during the coming week.

Then we close in prayer.

Note: During the first four weeks of meeting, each man shares his own story (one each week) of his personal spiritual faith journey. It’s always interesting and engaging. It gets us started out right. Getting to know one another from a spiritual standpoint, right out the gate.

Note: After week five, we begin to pass around the task of facilitating the Discovery Quad process so each person gets to facilitate the Discovery Quad meeting at least once a month. After one year, each participant has had the experience of leading the Discovery Group at least ten times. Great experience.
